Summer Opportunities Fair

The process of finding the right camp can take quite a while. Now is a great time to meet with camp directors, attend camp fairs, and gather advice from a Tips on Trips and Camps advisor to determine which summer camp or teen program is right for your child.

Join Tips on Trips and Camps at  Rye Country Day School  for the 15th annual Tips on Trips and Camps Summer Opportunities Fair – an event where parents and their children (ages 7 to 18) can view an array of overnight summer options, talk to camp and program directors, pick up brochures and receive advice from me and other Tips on Trips advisors.

Participating summer overnight programs will include traditional camps, specialty camps, community service programs, language immersion programs, sailing programs, outdoor adventure, teen travel, academic programs — and more!  There are always so many opportunities to consider.

Clients often ask: Why Should I Attend?

LET’S TALK SUMMER

Whether it is a traditional overnight camp or a specialty camp where kids can delve into their interests or pursue new ones, or a teen program that will broaden their exposure to community service, language immersion, outdoor adventure or academic exploration, there are numerous options available!

What's New . . .
For younger campers, traditional camp is still the most popular choice for this age group -- a place where kids can be technology-free and enjoy activities otherwise not experienced at home.  However, specialty camps have risen in popularity, as well.  There are a number of specialty and enrichment programs in science, technology, sports and business.
For middle school students, more options than ever are available: community service, travel and language immersion programs for those who want to venture away from the traditional camp experience.  In addition, your "tweener" may be excited about enrichment programs in veterinary science, emergency medicine, culinary arts, or fashion, to name just a few.
For high school students, the trend continues to be "traveling with a purpose." Trips exploring the water crisis in California or the future of food and food start-ups are among this year's options.  Teens may be excited about new and exciting travel destinations, like Iceland and Cuba, or STEM programs on a US college campus.  Perhaps, urban design studies in Scandinavia would further a potential career path.  Speaking of career paths . . . if teens are looking for real world, behind-the-scenes workplace exposure, some programs have partnered with major American companies to provide these experiences.
