If you've been following Macaroni Kid White Plains-Scarsdale-Rye for a long time than you already know that yearly I get invited along with 50 of my fellow publisher moms to our annual Silver Daisy Boondoggle. Boondoggle is a work trip where Macaroni Kid publishers get to do what we do best, work hard and play harder, and we played hard at Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun. I had never been to Cancun before however, I know its a popular go-to for New Yorkers and the prices of the flights to Cancun are extremely pocket-friendly. When I arrived to Cancun Airport Lomas Travel was there ready to take me to the resort. We arrived out front of this beachfront oasis and I were greeted with such warm smiles as soon as I got out of the shuttle! Which is why the staff at Azul is top one of the five reasons I plan to go back! Read on more to learn about why I am already planning my family vacation next year.
| The Staff at Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun goes above a beyond for their guests and they truly never stop working. When you arrive at the resort you're greeted and assisted by the staff. My room wasn't ready yet but I was able to change and head straight to the pool. Every staff member I passed was helpful and always smiling. The Staff at the beach bar went out of their way to find us coconuts so we could try a staple drink beachside and they chatted with us as if we'd known eachother forever. |  |
 Family-friendly. Azul Beach Resort takes kid friendly to a whole new level. This is the ultimate family-friendly resort. The resort is separated by their buildings. I was lucky to have a room that was designed for a family. Right outside our building was the kids club, teen room, kids pool and tennis courts. The kid's area was secure and safe enough for mom to get some sun and the kids can splash around. For older kids or some family pool fun, the larger pool has games set up and you can play a family game of pool volleyball right outside your building. There are activities happening all day long that are child friendly including spanish classes. I would be remiss if I didn't mention their kid-approved food at the eatery Spoons that had your kids favorites like chicken fingers, fries and self served soft icecream.  |    |
| Food, seriously yes the food. The food is an experience all in its own. From their restaurant Spoons which is an all you can eat journey that is opened for three meals a day you will not go hungry eating your way around with endless food options. The resort really has something for everyone. When you decide where you'd like to eat you book with your building's concierge. We were lucky to have the chance to eat at each of the restaurants. The Tapas restaurant challenged my adventurous nature with foods like octopus and shrimp. The Italian restaurant had a filet that made you want to lick the place and the traditional Mexican restaurant had us on our feet dancing enjoying Mexican staples and of course, tequila. |  |
| The recharge. Yes you read that right, the recharge. We've all been on a vacation that seemed like more work than vacation, Azul is the opposite.The resort does something to the soul and recharges you. From the sound of the ocean, the many private cabanas, hammocks, the easy walk and how easy the resort makes it for you to just relax and enjoy yourself this is the ultimate place to just be in the moment. Azul really takes all the work and stress out of vacations. |  |
| The Indulge worthy experiences at Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun offers are excursions that take over all of your senses. Le Chique is not your typical restaurant a 14-course tasting menu that blends traditional Latin American spices with a fusion of art and flavors that will delight the taste buds. Take your time and treat yourself to this culinary adventure. This is an add on to your stay and not a part of the all inclusive package. The other indulge worth experience is the Vassa Spa. I opted to add on a scrub spa treatment to exfoliate the summer sun damage and rehydrate my skin. Vassa offers a spa journey like no other. I like to think I am a spa snob. We have so many great spas locally, Vassa isn't like any place I've ever been. The Spa experience at Azul Beach Resorts is a self care journey. When you arrive to the spa they encourage you to arrive 45 minutes early to take advantage of the hydrotherapy, sauna and steam room. When I arrived a slipped into my bathing suit and joined three mac kid sisters to start the trip through the spa. First stop was the sauna, the heat felt good on my joints, after we showered off and went to the steam room where the attendant gave us an exfoliating lotion and than a moisturizer to rub in. Once rinsed off we laid on the loungers where the attendant gave us a chair side facial and served us chlorophyl water. As if all of that doesn't sound like it was enough once we were done we were brought into a relaxation area to rest until it was time for our spa treatment. The full body scrub along with wrap and massage was exactly what I need to loosen up and let go. These indulge worthy experiences are truly worth treating yourself to and I would highly recommed adding them to your trip |  |
Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun is the ultimate family destination. I would reccomend staying 5 nights to get the full experience. When packing make sure to add an inlflatable for the pool! Kids gor such a kick out of getting to float around on their floats and I know we did too! Thank you Azul Beach resorts for hosting us. This was a trip I won't be forgetting.
