WHAT IS THE SUMMER THEATRE ACADEMY?
…After COVID-19
The Summer Theatre Academy at The White Plains Performing Arts Center, now in its 16th year, is the region’s premier performing arts training program. In response to Covid-19, WPPAC has been closely following the guidance of state and local health officials. We are developing plans and protocols to ensure that we can provide quality theatre education this summer in a safe, dynamic, and fun environment for all. We have made changes to our summer camp programming, implemented comprehensive health and safety protocols, developed an online camp option, and adjusted our refund policy to meet the demands of this unprecedented moment. If you have any questions, please email education@wppac.com
Please Note:
CAMPS WILL NOT RUN IF MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IS NOT MET
HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS
The wellbeing of our campers, staff, and their families is our number one priority. We are taking the following steps this summer to ensure a safe environment:
- Twice daily deep cleaning of all facilities with hospital-grade cleaning supplies, with regular disinfecting throughout the day
- Daily contact-free temperature checks for campers and staff
- Limited enrollment and maximal use of facilities to create space for learning, including the use of outdoor space in White Plains
- Regular breaks for handwashing and sanitizing
We will continue to monitor the latest developments and will comply with all state and local summer camp guidance.
REFUND POLICY
Normally, WPPAC does not offer refunds for our camps and classes after purchase. Due to the profound impact of COVID 19 on our community, we are offering an adjusted refund policy this summer:
If a parent wishes to withdraw from a camp, a refund (minus a 20% administrative fee) will be processed as follows:
- Like all arts organizations, Covid-19 has severely impacted WPPAC. In the event of withdrawal or cancellation, parents have the opportunity to make a tax-deductible contribution of the refund, supporting this essential part of the White Plains community
- OR, 25% of refund balance sent immediately, the remainder of refund processed within 90 days
- OR, a full refund can be issued immediately as a gift certificate for any WPPAC program
If WPPAC cancels any summer camp programming, a refund will be issued as follows:
- Parents have the opportunity to make a tax-deductible contribution of the refund, supporting this essential part of the White Plains community
- OR, 25% of refund balance sent immediately, the remainder of refund processed within 90 days
- OR, the full amount can be issued immediately as a WPPAC gift certificate
We hope this information is helpful to you as you make plans for the summer. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our education staff at education@wppac.com or Office: (914) 328-1600.
