Something I love about Macaroni KID is the opportunity to host events and bring people together. Sam and her beautiful family have been a wonderful part of our Barrel House craft days. I was thrilled to hear that she was launching her own business with friend and now co-founder, Sheryn, and I was eager to spread the word about a new mom-owned business with a focus on family right in our Mt. Kisco community.

What is the story behind your business?
Hi there! We are Sam and Sheryn, creators of Happy in Color! We are both currently stay at home moms of the sweetest little ones. Sam is a mom of two girls, ages 3.5 and 1 with a third on the way (baby boy coming Sept 2023!). Sheryn is a mom of a 6-year-old boy and 4 year old girl. In the summer of 2021, our girls met at camp and became best friends which led us to each other! The idea for Happy in Color comes from our backgrounds in the artistic world and a shared overabundance of passion for the things we love. Also, we cannot get enough when it comes to color and the outdoors in summer!!
What does your business offer its' customers?
Welcome to Happy in Color! Your 1-hour session offers a unique experience that focuses on connection, creativity and happiness. While using an array of unusual {child friendly} painting methods, you will layer you 36"×48" canvas as a team with acrylics, watercolors and so much more! All of our sessions are held in either Sam or Sheryn's backyards right here in Mount Kisco, NY! Materials for your session are included. Our goal for you is to bond, laugh and free your minds while creating something memorable to last a lifetime!
Sharing a sneak peek into my family's session with Happy in Color!
My family and I were so excited to join a recent session held in Sam's backyard. Sheryn and Sam had prepared the art materials to allow access to artists of a variety of ages. Our family ranges in age from toddler to preschooler to middle schooler and they all had an absolute blast! Sheryn and Sam walked us through a choice of paint colors, offering their artistic eye to ensure the colors would really pop. We began with oil pastels on the large canvas, moved into some watercolor work, and the great fun that is outdoor art really began when Sheryn showed us how to pop paint filled balloons onto our budding masterpiece. A wide range of fun materials were used to add acrylics from trucks to string to stencils. We were all in on the fun!
There are several more surprises that I'll leave up to your families to discover. You'll walk away with a unique piece filled with stories and happy memories of the day. You'll want to wear clothes that can get messy and are welcome to bring snacks. Sheryn and Sam will take care of the rest!
There are pop-up sessions running on select dates through the summer. You can contact Happy in Color through Instagram @happyincolor.mk or via email at happyincolor.mk@gmail.com. Be sure to share you heard more from Macaroni KID!
