Portable North Pole My daughter loves this site! Enter your child's name and age, answer a few questions about their behavior and what they want for Christmas. Photos can also be uploaded from special events over the course of the year. It then produces a video with an in-the-flesh Santa who reads to your child from a book with your uploaded photos. It is very personalized for an automated website program and is just adorable We have watched this over and over and over. (You do have the option of purchasing the video to download and keep for about $5.) This is great for the little ones! www.portablenorthpole.com

Track Santa with NORAD Use this popular website to track Santa's movements on Christmas Eve. Until then, there is a "Countdown to Track Santa" and a "Santa's Village" page where your child can scroll over the village to locate which shop is busiest and uncover a secret activity of the day. Beginning at 2:00 am EST on Christmas Eve, NORAD will be posting updates on both Google Maps and Google Earth via the NORAD Santa site. NORAD personnel will begin answering phone calls and emails at 4:30 am EST on Christmas Eve. You can reach the program at 1-877-Hi-NORAD (877) 446-6723 or visit www.noradsanta.org.

Personalized Video Greeting from Santa (Portable North Pole)

Korben absolutely loved his video from Santa last year and this has become one of our traditions on Christmas Day to view after opening gifts.  In a few steps, you can create a customized video from Santa.  Enter your child's name and age, answer a few questions about behavior and what they want for Christmas. Photos can also be uploaded from special events over the course of the year. The video with an in- the- flesh Santa reads to your child from a book with your uploaded photos. It is very personalized for an automated website program and so adorable. (You do have the option of purchasing the video to download and keep forever).

Track Santa with NORAD (NORAD Tracking)

This website tracks Santa's movements on Christmas eve.  Until then, there is a "Countdown to Track Santa" and a "Santa's Village" page where your child can scroll over the village to locate which shop is busiest and uncover a secret activity of the day.  NORAD Tracks Santa Operations Center (NTSCO) opens on December 24th at 6AM EST (5AM CST, 4AM MST and 3AM PST) until 5AM EST (4AM CST, 3AM MST and 2AM PST) on December 25th.  NORAD will be posting updates on bothGoogle Maps and GoogleEarth via the NORAD Santa site. NORAD personnel will begin answering phone calls and e-mails at 4:30 a.m. EST on Christmas Eve. You can reach the program at 1-877-Hi-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or by e-mail at noradtrackssanta@gmail.com.

As a side note, Tracking Santa with NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) has been a tradition since 1955 and has quite an interesting history. According to the NORAD website: "
The tradition began in 1955 after a Colorado Springs-based Sears Roebuck & Co. advertisement for children to call Santa misprinted the telephone number. Instead of reaching Santa, the phone number put kids through to the CONAD Commander-in-Chief’s operations "hot line."  The Director of Operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff check the radar for indications of Santa making his way south from the North Pole. Children who called were given updates on his location, and a tradition was born."

When visiting events and local businesses, be sure to tell them Macaroni KID sent you... and don't forget to tell all your friends!
